I live in Mountain View (peninsula of SF Bay Area). I joined as an ally, because I'm just a typical American mutt, second generation German on one side, and German, Irish, Scottish and English on the other. About the best I can do is explain that I'm 1/32 Mohawk on my father's side. Random fact for the day -- the Mohawk and the Iroquois tribe were hired a lot to be steelworkers on many of the skyscrapers built in NYC because they tended not to have a fear of heights. Some people suspect that there is a genetic component to said fear.

Wed, August 1, 2007 - 2:29 AMHi, I'm Sidra, and I actually live near Monterey. I've been studying "the scene" for a couple of years now. I believe I'd like to domme. Not sure about topping/bottoming. I've taken classes at Citadel, QSM, visited smOdyssey. I even went to an SOJ orientation, but lost the app.
I noticed that I was usually the only raisin in the milk, and that made me uncomfortable. I am trying to find community as I explore myself. It's quite daunting.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I guess I'm the golden raisin in the milk :)
But keep doing what you're doing, go to classes, check out events. Make connections with people you trust.
